Guru Maa is a force beyond anyone’s imagination. Her creative mind and Her ability to transform events into true works of art came through as the 2007 Vedic Heritage concert began on February 24th at the well-appointed Purohit Resort Hotel in Lonavala. The evening was filled with music, dance, warmth and joy beyond all expectations. The event was the most-talked about topic in the whole town of Lonavala for days to come.

Vedic Heritage devoted the concert to classical music and dance. The program opened with the traditional lighting of the lamp. Introduction of guests were made by Sunita Buddhiraja and shawls were presented to all dignitaries by the Executive Trustee, Dr. Jhunjhunwala and Her Holiness Guru Maa.

Pandit Jasraj was deeply touched and surprised as Guru Maa presented him with an ornate silver box with almonds. The box was inscribed to Pandit Jasraj in honor of his 77th birthday. Guru Maa made a special birthday card and banners which added to the festive moment.

Budding student classical artists in both music and dance opened the evening entertainment. All the young artists were the winners at the AVIDES competition which was held in New York on Diapwali of 2006. Pandit Jasraj and his musicians filled the night air with mystical sounds. The audience was moved by Pandit Jasraj’s vibrant voice. Rich is the sound of the soul of India. The capacity filled room was numbed into silence, totally mesmerized by the classical ragas.

A wonderful buffet followed the concert. Guru Maa led everyone in singing Happy Birthday to Pandit Jasraj as he cut his birthday cake. A heartfelt thank you to Guru Maa and Pandit Jasrajji for an indescribable evening.
